| Godzilla is coming!!! (a bit of self-promotion from a past ML ...) |
[Oct. 2nd, 2009|09:10 am] |
... well, coming to the stage at Bread & Circus as Monkeyman Productions brings you Godzilla on Sundays!**

This October, Monkeyman Productions brings you our first full-length production, a remounting (and slight reimagining) of the show that actually inspired the creation of the company in the first place. Godzilla on Sundays, written by Toronto playwright D.J. Sylvis, tells the story of two geeky best friends, one girl, and a giant radioactive lizard. As in previous Monkeyman shows, the pop culture references come fast and furious, but the show will appeal to anyone who has ever watched a cheesy movie, goofed around with their best friend, or tried to hold on to someone they love. For more info, check out http://godzillaonsundays.com.
October 14th-17th and 21st-24th Doors open at 6:30 each night Show begins at 7:30
Bread & Circus 299 Augusta Avenue, Kensington Market Tickets $15 (available now! -- click on the link for Bread & Circus above)
** No, the play isn't actually on Sundays. Trust me, it makes sense if you come to the show. |

i hope it is okay to post this here - mods, please delete if you think it is necessary.
some of you may remember me from nano past, and wayne is, of course, wonderfully unforgettable. we're carrying over the fun we had with the writing sessions for nano and the creative sessions that followed nano and starting a coworking facility for all independent and freelance folks to work. and yes, that includes writers! and so, we're hosting an event to raise a bit more money before we open.
details:
It’s spring time. That means it is time to go cowhuntin’!
Don’t worry, we’re not really hunting cows. The Cowhunt is what we’re calling our own version of an urban adventure where teams solve clues, photograph themselves with proof, and race to the finish line (a pub!) for prizes. It’s a play on the word coworking, which is sometimes pronounced in jest as cow-orking. And while we’re not sure what is involved with orking a cow, we think the big mammals are fun and cute enough to use as our mascot for our urban adventure. It’s fun, the weather is generally nice this time of year, and it’s a great way to experience the city while raising funds for a new coworking facility for Toronto.
Choose a partner (or let us know if you need a partner and we’ll randomly match you with someone else who needs a partner), register yourselves, and have fun! Must be 19yrs of age or older. Registration is $15 per person. Space is limited. The Cowhunt starts at 11:00am on Sat Apr 25, 2009 in the Annex.

Well, here we are, folks – standing on the verge of another year of plotting, moaning at the hackneyed lines we come up with, refusing to go back to correct typos, anxiously updating our word counts every 500 or so, too much coffee and too many hasty, snack-based dinners … but I have a feeling you're just like me, and you wouldn't miss it for the world! So let's get our novel ideas in order and hit the ground running! ( to save your Friends page ) |
